What this page is

This is the single canonical catalogue of every source cited inline across bookedwild.com — academic papers, industry reports, government datasets, OTA-published rates, and Schema.org documentation — plus Booked Wild's own primary research. Body copy across the site uses inline hyperlinks pointing to the original source where available, or to an anchor on this page when the original is paywalled. There is no separate References section on any other page.

Sourcing standard

How we source.

Every quantified claim on the site is hyperlinked to its source. Where the original is open, the link points to the original — Princeton arXiv, Schema.org docs, Eurostat datasets, individual OTA published rates. Where the original is paywalled or hard to access, the link points to an anchored entry on this page so the reader still sees who said what and when.

Booked Wild's own primary research — from the European Travel AI Visibility Index, internal client tracking, and our citation monitoring — is visibly distinct from third-party data, both in body copy (prefixed "Booked Wild research:") and in the amber-tinted block at the top of this page. The proprietary data is the moat.

Dead or moved links break pre-publish review. A retired source isn't deleted — it carries a note pointing to the source that supersedes it. Link-checks run quarterly.

Citation methodology

How citations get counted.

"Cited on N pages" is generated at build time. The build scans every MDX file in src/content/ for outbound URLs and anchors that match a source's source_url. New external URLs that don't yet have a matching entry trigger a build warning so editors can add the source MDX as part of the editorial flow.

The full methodology for each individual report — documents reviewed, source-language verification process, calculation of any inferred ranges — is published alongside the report itself. Read the April 2026 Levi audit for a worked example.
